iDR consulting can design, build, and implement interactive deal rooms tailored to your business.

How does iDR Consulting approach building interactive deal room programs?

Step 1: Assemble buying journey for the most common selling scenario including situation, needs, implication, payout, participants(internal and external), ideal client business case, decision process, contracting, implementation and support.
Step 2: Identify variables that impact the buying journey e.g. stakeholder role, product, company size, budget, new vs up-sell, etc.
Step 3: List common objections, reasons deals stall, and why
Step 4: Finalize build scope, OKRs and cost
Step 5: Assemble existing sales resources and identify missing sales resources.
Step 5: Build the iDR (interactive deal room)
Step 6: iDR review, testing, and sign-off
Step 7: Train users and admin
Step 8: Measure results (close rates, deal duration, deal size, implementation rates, etc)

Do I need to buy software to get started?

No, We can use my license during the build process. Once we have the interactive deal room templates built and approved then we can move forward with purchasing and rolling out the licenses for your organization. We’ll make certain you are satisfied with your templates first.

The software that we recommend is Miro. It is reasonably priced at $16/mo per business users when paid annually. Enterprises licenses typically depend on your security requirements and administrative hierarchy. Miro is well established with over 80 million users and many of the world’s largest businesses.

Anyone that is creating deal rooms for the organization (from templates) or needs to access deal rooms as a team member will require a user license. The deal rooms can be shared to “guests” who do not need a license.

How much does IDR Consulting charge for its services?

Cost is dependent on the number of deal room templates you would like to create, their complexity, sales resources you would like us to build, group training vs 1 on1 and integrations requirements.

The initial buying journey map is free so that will provide us a measure of scope and we can assemble an accurate estimate from there. Seeing that the project timelines are relatively short and we can start with the greatest area of need there is room for almost any budget.

How long does it take to build an iDR program for my organization?

It will depend on the number of sales motions, corresponding templates, new sales resources that need to be created and size of the team that requires training. If we start with the three most common sales motions as launching point a good estimate would be about 3 weeks. Additional sales motion templates can be introduced ongoing.

Do I need iDR Consulting’s services ongoing?

The objective is to stand up your iDR program and train your organization to manage it moving forward. Not every sales motion needs to be accounted for and it will inevitably change over time. If want iDR Consulting to manage your program ongoing, that can be arranged and we can always comeback to assist.

Are there other use cases that I can apply to the iDR software?

Yes. Miro can be used as a sales and marketing content management system, for prospecting outreach, implementation project planning, sales coaching and strategy, to name a few. iDR Consulting can assist with building these adjacent use cases but Miro can assist with any ideation or planning activities that your business may have.

Frequently Asked Questions

What services does iDR Consulting offer?

IDR Consulting offers design, build, test and training for interactive deal rooms. We allow sales organizations to execute an iDR program quickly and reliably.

What software does iDR utilize?

There are a number of collaboration and planning platforms that we can be used to create an iDR. Depending on the complexity and requirements of your business we can make a recommendation. Our preferred platform is Miro.

Can an iDR improve close rates?

An iDR constructs a clear business case including problems, solutions, validations, available alternatives, expected results and other key points that decision makers require. In doing so we can improve the ratio of won deals versus “no decision” that result from a poorly constructed or contrived business argument.

Is building iDR expensive ?

Relative to the cost of other sales tools it’s pretty affordable and may have multiple uses. Using Miro as an example, the cost of a business license is $16 per user per month. The cost for iDR Consulting’s services to implement will depend on complexity to setup and services you desire but they are a one-time fee. The initial consultation to learn more is free.

How long does it take to build an iDR?

On average it takes 1 to 2 days to design a buyer’s journey. From there it takes approximately 1 week to build the deal room templates. Plus another 1 – 2 weeks for testing and training.

Does an iDR integrate into my existing technology stack?

Yes, they can integrate into existing business systems like Google and Microsoft platforms, to communication platforms like Slack, Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet; planning systems like Jira, Atalassian, Git hub, Asana, Monday.com, Notion, as well as CRM systems like Salesforce.com. Deal rooms can also be embedded in other applications for quick access.

Are there other use cases for the iDR?

The same technology can be used to create sales and marketing libraries to assure the latest resources are easily accessible and up to date. An iDR can weave marketing soundbites into an engaging and personalized storyboard prospecting campaign. It can also be used as a meeting platform that seamlessly integrates slide content with ideation and problem solving tools.

I already have a deal room. How is this different?

Most existing deal rooms act as branded online folders. They lack the ability to capture feedback, validation and representation of the buyers voice. The sales rep must architect each room so they lack continuity and best practices. While they help organize sales materials they lack the project planning capacity to build a comprehensive business plan through to product launch which is what the client needs.

Can an iDR reduce my deal cycle times?

Consolidating resources in one place allows faster on-boarding of internal and external stakeholders, decision makers and budget approvers. In addition, templated sales motions put the right resources in the reps hands and allows both parties to prepare required resources and sustain momentum.

How do I get started?
